Kenya Climate Smart Agriculture Project

Kenya Climate Smart Agriculture Project Nyeri county (KCSAP) a Government of Kenya initiative Supported by the World Bank. The Project Development Objective was to increase agricultural productivity and build resilience to climate change risks in the targeted smallholder farming and pastoral communities in Kenya.

The Project activities contributed to this objective by Up-scaling Climate-Smart Agriculture (CSA) Practices and supporting smallholder farmers to adopt integrated climate-smart Technology, Innovation and Management Practices (TIMPs) and also support investments through a community-driven development approach in smallholder agro-pastoral production systems and in pastoral extensive production systems in the Project area Irish Potatoes Value Chain.

Previous Projects

Hort Agro solution agencies consultants have vast experience in agriculture, project management and Cooperative matters. They have undertaken various assignments and consultancies. Some of the relevant assignments undertaken in the last five years by the firm and its associates include but are not limited to;

• Develop a comprehensive business plans and Marketing strategies and provide a roadmap for achieving its objectives effectively market its products and increase revenue to CBO and Co-operatives.
• Setting up solar driers and coffee potting Nursery Demonstration farm on Income Generating Activities for the Coffee Producer Organization.
• Construction and Roll out of Standard Solar Drier for their Coffee producer organization to enhance solar energy utilization for cost effective drying of coffee.
• Support Strengthening data collection and analysis of food production, storage, trade, consumption and prices project in Kenya.
• Implementation and enhancing compliance to Global GAP requirements for ease of export market penetration to co- operatives and Exportcompanies and Establishing Quality Management System in accordance with ISO 9001:2015 in Rwanda.
• Designed and Implemented a vegetable farming business model as well as Analyzed dynamics of processing and value creation,reward distribution, and value chain governance and knowledge transfer for the smallholderfarmer in kiambu, Nyandaru and Nakuru and linking them to export market on vegetable dehydration.
